CURRICULUM VITAE
Dr. Saulius Vikšraitis was awarded his medical degree at the Kaunas Medical Institute (Lithuania) in 1984. During his studies he was actively interested in plastic reconstructive surgery. When Dr. Saulius Vikšraitis accomplished his medical studies, he started working in a field that was completely new at that time - plastic reconstructive microsurgery - at the Kaunas Medicine University Clinic. Whilst working there, the surgeon achieved mastery in one of the most complicated areas of plastic reconstructive surgeries, the replantation of limbs, the replantation of complex tissues whilst reconstructing breasts, and the defects of the face and nose. He also introduced new methodology for operations.
During his 18 years experience at Kaunas Medical University Hospital, he has performed more than 2 thousands plastic and reconstructive surgical operations. Dr. Vikšraitis is one of the first in the Baltic countries who in 1997 started using endoscopic techniques for cosmetic surgery of the face. From 1998 this Doctor introduced a new approach to face rejuvenation.
In 2003 the surgeon left the Kaunas Medical University Clinic and concentrated on cosmetic surgery i.e. - face rejuvenation, nose and breast surgery. Dr. Vikšraitis is actively a member of the following organizations: Lithuanian Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the International Confederation of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (I.P.R.A.S.), European Confederation of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery E.P.R.A.S.), European Association for Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery (E.A.C.M.F.S.) , Baltic Association for Cranio-Maxillofacial and Plastic Surgery (Baltic AMPS).
Research works: Dr. Saulius Vikšraitis shared his experience in the field of plastic reconstructive surgery during the Congresses of European Plastic Surgeons. He has published scientific articles in prestigious European medical journals. Dr. Vikšraitis – Biomed expert from 2004.
Dr. Saulius Vikšraitis had internship courses at prestigious plastic surgery clinics of Europe and United States of America. The subject of research – The Effectiveness of Endoscope Assisted Face Surgery.
Leisure: During his leisure time Saulius Vikšraitis conveys the sense of beauty while painting pictures. He has held four art exhibitions. The surgeon is a member of the Rotary Club.
